Challenges as a designer:
I am a terrific seamstress! But still challenged on working pattern skills. I am constantly practicing! I have the talent! But it is difficult to get my Designs out in the market place and bought! My biggest challenges are answering these questions.
Favorite part of being a designer:
My favorite part of being a designer taking a square of fabric and making it into something wearable. It has to be similar to the feeling a teacher feels when her students finally just "get it," or the feeling an athletic trainer feels when their trainee brings home the trophy. My clothes are my trophies, they are wearable, tangible proof of why I was put on this earth!!!
My inspiration:
I am inspired by Chanel and her feminine, timeless fashion. I often find myself inspired by what I can't find. If I need an outfit, or a jacket, or a pair of slacks etc., I often can't find exactly what I want. I'm also inspired by unique fabrics. I have no other choice but to make it! And then my next piece is born!!
Goals and Ambitions:
Right now my goal is to get my online store up and going.
Anyone who has ever started a business knows what I am going through.
My 10 year goal is to be a household name like Ann Taylor, or DKNY, or the great Kenneth Cole.
My ultimate goal is to be in the fashion history books.
